The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has a great variety of rewards and perks lined up for the users. The points that you earn from the purchase has great rewards for you to enjoy. This can definitely be your best travel credit card. It has a good reward point offer, which entitles you to get 2x points for every dollar you plan to spend. This can be a toll bridge dollar or even a cupcake shop dollar spent. It has no annual fee for the first year, what can be even better? Wondering how much they ask next year onwards? It is $95 per year.
Difference in Reward Structures
The Chase Sapphire Reserve has an annual fee of $450, whereas the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has no annual fee for the first year and then has $95 per year. While the Chase Sapphire Reserve has 3x points on travel as well as dining and 1x points on the rest, the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has 2x points on the travel arena and 1x for the rest. You get a 300 dollar credit with the Chase Sapphire Reserve and you get none of this with the Chase Sapphire Preferred. This makes the annual fee of the Sapphire Reserve equivalent to 150 dollars ideally. Definitely, the Chase Sapphire Reserve is more generous with its rewards and perks compared to Chase Sapphire Preferred. But all this comes with a slightly higher price as well. The authorized user fee is nil in Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, but it is present in the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card.
