How to open a US bank account from abroad?

I’m stuck to a situation. I’ve was living to the USA on non-resident L1B visa , till last year my visa expired so I moved to India. I filed my tax return, and got a refund check, the problem is, in the check is payable to both me and my wife. My wife does not have a bank account in the USA and I do. How would I cash in my check?
